The Warriors UltraRun is an overnight, underground running experience that carries runners over 28 miles as they recreate the escape route from the iconic 1979 cult film by Walter Hill. After attending a 1 AM Conclave, held at a secret location in the Bronx, runners dressed as gang members pass movie shooting sights as they race for Coney Island.

To bring the movie to life, we created a unique race format, an Urban Chase, where a lead gang -- the Warriors Elite Team -- receives a 15 minute head start before being chased through the streets of NYC by the full field.

This is a costumed UltraRun -- for running clubs, solo runners and groups of friends... everyone dresses as gang members featured in the film, or creates their own running gangs. .

All runners are placed in similarly-paced running gangs -- and no one runs alone.

The Warriors UltraRun was founded by Todd Aydelotte, an NYC ultrarunner and devoted fan of the film, who ran the route by himself in July, 2018. As word spread, more fans of the Warriors joined him each year.

The 6th Annual The Warriors UltraRun was held in July 2024 and featured our first all-women Warriors Elite Team: Tracy Schultz (War Chief), Michelle Goldberg, Kumi Redpath, Nora Carroll, Sonia Weiser, Emily Templeton, Kristen Dunleavy, Ava Nadal, and Jasmine Chiaramonte. 

In 2024, the Elite Team was passed at mile 9 by a group of Saracens on the Upper West Side. Congrats to our winners! For the men, Benjamin Kuykendall 1st(3:57), Robert Wilson 2nd (4:03) and Alexander ter Weele 3rd(4:23); and for the women, Tracy Schultz 1st (4:15), Nora Carroll 2nd(4:26), and Sonia Weiser 3rd (4:54).

In the team competition, The Saracens won 1st, followed by The Alley Cats and The Moon Runners.

This is an unsanctioned race run by fans for fans. We're not associated in any capacity with the movie, Paramount, or the actors. We make zero profit on this event whatsoever -- and all funds from ticket sales go to custom-made vests for winners; tech costs for our Conclave; and a 3-person shooting team.
